Behind the scenes video: swing dancing

Swing Dancing is coming back in full force so Anna Cafolla, XCity Life’s feature editor, and Elinore Court, arts editor, threw themselves into Swing Patrol’s dancing class at the Candid Arts Centre in Angel, North London.

Swing Patrol holds classes throughout London for all levels of experience and are the biggest swing dancing organisation in London. Swing dancing is not just about the moves, it has become increasingly popular for the social side, the community aspect and a deep love of swing music.

We went along and asked some swing fanatics to see what all the fuss is about and why people are still flocking to the dance floor.
